Just 34 minutes ago, a 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck near Puerto Lebu, Arauco province, del Biobio region, Chile. The tremor was recorded on the morning of Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 8:20 a.m. local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.
The event was classified by the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Cities near the epicenter where the quake could have been felt as very weak tremors include Puerto Lebu (population 22,300) located 94 km from the epicenter.
