Apple and Google Maps Don’t Show Apple CEO Tim Cook’s Home: Here’s Why

Running the most powerful company in the world comes with its own pressures. Tim Cook, CEO of Apple Inc, the world’s best-known smartphone and computer maker, doesn’t like showing off where he lives.
A report from Apple Insider revealed how Tim Cook’s home is distorted or obscured on Apple and Google’s map apps to protect his privacy.

Tim Cook’s stalker issues
A few days ago, Tim Cook got an injunction against a woman who was stalking him. The Virginia stalker not only broke into Apple CEO Tim Cook’s California residence, but also emailed him images of a loaded gun.
Apple told the court that the woman in question “intends to return to [Cook’s] residence or otherwise locate it in the near future.”

Tim Cook has never tried to hide his whereabouts in Palo Alto, California. However, his address had not been publicly known until Apple had to reveal it for court documents.
The Apple CEO’s residence is still visible on Google Maps and Google Earth if viewed from above. If you are using the Street View feature, the area surrounding the property appears blurry.

Apple has also blurred Tim Cook’s residence from Apple Maps as well as its Look Around feature which works like Google’s Street View.

Tim Cook is being stalked by a woman who first appeared on Twitter claiming to be the wife of the Apple CEO. She also alleged that Tim Cook was the biological father of her two twins. In a court filing, Apple said the woman sent Cook 200 emails that were “threatening and very upsetting.”
