Where to find the cheapest gasoline in San Antonio

AAA reports that the average national gas price is $4.17 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel and $3.85 in Texas. Locally, the average gas price is $3.75 per gallon, about 50 cents higher than last week. If San Antonio continues on this path, it could reach or possibly surpass the all-time high average price of $3.95.
Technology has made it easier to find the cheapest gas prices near you with multiple apps at your fingertips. Here are some ways to find cheap gas prices.
GasBuddy is easy to use and immediately lists the cheapest gas station prices.

GasBuddy
GasBuddy is an app dedicated to finding cheap gas prices in your city. The app’s website says it has saved users around $3.1 billion through its services.
The app is free to download from Google Play and the App Store. GasBuddy works from your current location if your GPS is on and lists gas station prices near you. You can widen or narrow the search area depending on the distance you can travel.
gas guru
Another app that has been designed to find cheap gas prices near you is Gas Guru from The Real Yellow Pages, also known as YP.
The app works like GasBuddy by listing gas stations near you, which you can filter by lowest gas price and type. Gas Guru also indicates whether the gas station has an ATM, restaurant or car wash.
It is available on Apple and Android phones.

Google Maps will show you the nearest gas stations, but it’s up to you to determine the cheapest.

Waze
Yeah. The app that lets you have Cookie Monster updates you on your route. Waze also allows someone to search for nearby gas stations and sort them by price.
Waze relies on other people using the map to report accidents, road closures and traffic. The same goes for gas station prices, so prices may not be as accurate if the last time gas prices were updated was two days ago.
I live outside of Loop 1604, so the last gas price update near me was two days ago. If you look at gas stations closer to San Antonio, however, prices are updated regularly.
Google Maps
As with most navigation apps, Google Maps also lets you search for nearby gas stations. If your GPS is on, you can tap the refueling pump icon and it will display the nearest stations and prices.
It will take a bit more research on the map or list it provides to find the cheapest gasoline as there doesn’t seem to be a filter for “price”. As of this afternoon, most prices have been hovering between $3.70 and $3.80.
Siri
Sure, Siri can tell you where to find cheap gas. Like any technology, it has its particularities. If I asked “Where is the cheapest gas near me?” Siri showed me results for gas stations where gas prices weren’t listed.
We must therefore ask ourselves more than one question. Start with “Siri, where are the nearest gas stations?” Once you get the results, you’ll want to ask, “Which has the cheapest gas?” Siri will then sort the results by cheapest.
So it takes a bit more talking, but Siri ends up doing the job.
