NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has established the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Center with the aim of mapping the human brain with emphasis on high resolution brain imaging. The brain center at IIT Madras aims to train its students in neuroscience and computer science, machine learning techniques on brain data, says a statement from IIT Madras.
The center was inaugurated today, 19 March 2022. On this occasion, Prof. K Vijay Raghavan, Chief Scientific Advisor to the Government of India, also inaugurated the AquaMAP Center for Water Management and Policy at the campus of IIT Madras.

According to the statement, the brain center at IIT Madras campus aims to undertake a global project aimed at mapping the human brain at cellular and connectivity levels and establishing itself as a research center that produces the human brain data. , scientific production and technological tools. . IIT Madras alumnus Kris Gopalakrishnan and Sudha Gopalakrishnan support the brain center at IIT Madras.
