Nebraska unemployment website is back online
LINCOLN, Neb. (Press release) – Nebraska unemployment websiteNEworks, is back online following a outage affecting site provider, Geographic Solutions, Inc. Among several affected states, the Nebraska site was the first to come back online. GSI has also restored other state websites, with more to come.
“While we understand this has caused disruption to job seekers and other users, taking the site offline was an important step to protect the data of Nebraska workers,” said Labor Commissioner John H. Albin.
NDOL will ensure that job seekers can receive the benefits to which they are entitled. The agency prioritizes payments for weeks already claimed. Arrears of payment will be issued to all eligible applicants. Registrants should check their account for status updates.
The NEworks system invites workers with active claims to file for two weeks of benefits if a certification has not already been filed for the week ending June 25.
If a person recently became unemployed and was unable to file an initial claim for unemployment benefits or reopen their claim due to the system outage, they should request a retroactive dating of the claim by sending a email [email protected] Instructions can be found at dol.nebraska.gov/uibenefits.
